Hi, I’m Jason Sirotin, and today I’m speaking with Bill Hobbs, who is the owner and proprietor, managing director, everything, of Effortless Outdoor Media, which is a outdoor media advertising placement company. So Bill, I have a client who is interested in doing this like King Kong type billboard, and it’s outside of the normal shape and he’s going up. Why would they want to do that? Is that something that they should do? Are extensions good for getting attention?

Bill Hobbs:

Oh definitely. Yeah. So if you put an extension on the billboard, because most billboards are a rectangle, they all look the same shape. If you put an extension, whether it’s a gorilla or even the person’s logo is a half circle on top of the billboard, or I’ve worked with the Horse Town Western Wear, and they have a boot as an extension on a couple of their billboards. And the top of the boot is sticking out. Because it goes on top of the billboard, and it’s over the top to say that, when you drive by the road, there may be 10 billboards. You’ll notice one with an extension and it’ll be a lot more effective than a traditional billboard. And it’s just a one-time charge. So I recommend most of my clients use extensions.

Right. Like the old Chick-fil-A billboards with the cows hanging off and stuff.
